Baptisms of infants of St. Roch’s parishioners, are customarily conducted on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 10:30 a.m. Baptism Preparation Meetings are customarily held on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 4 p.m. in the Church. Parents are asked to attend a Baptism Preparation Meeting as a part of the Baptismal process. Parents seeking Baptism at St. Roch’s are asked to contact the Parish office on 9885 6611.
Please note – Sunday 15 December 2019 will not have a Baptism Preparation Meeting. The next meeting will be held on
Sunday 16 February 2020.
Other times for Baptisms are to be negotiated with the Parish Priest by contacting the Parish Office. Please note Baptism’s are not conducted during the month of January.
For Baptisms of adults, or children 7 years or older, a period of catechesis is required. That is, studying the Catholic faith. For such situations, please contact the Parish office.
Confessions are heard in St. Roch’s Church every Saturday at 6 p.m., Sundays at 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., or by appointment with the Parish Priest. Please call the Parish office to arrange the appointment.
Children are prepared in St.Roch’s School for their first confession.
The times of the celebration of the Eucharist (Mass) are noted under Mass times.
After 9 a.m. Sunday Mass, Holy Communion is taken to the sick and elderly of the Parish in their own homes. Enquiries about this should be directed to the Parish office.
St. Roch’s Parish School prepares children for their first reception of Holy Communion.
Confirmation is administered in St.Roch’s Church every two years to children in grades 5 and 6. The children are prepared in St.Roch’s Parish School.
Children who are St. Roch’s parishioners and who attend other schools may be Confirmed in St. Roch’s Church, provided they have participated in the complete program of preparation conducted by St. Roch’s Parish.
Anointing of the Sick
Parishioners of St. Roch’s Parish who are seriously ill should contact the Parish office to arrange for the celebration of the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.
Several times a year there is a communal celebration of Anointing the Sick and elderly parishioners of St. Roch’s and St.Cecilia’s Parishes. This is advertised in the weekly Parish bulletin. Dates are also listed in the events section of this website.
Parishioners wishing to marry in St. Roch’s Church should contact the Parish office.
At present, marriages in St. Roch’s Church are limited to St. Roch’s Parishioners.
